The new 2016 model now includes Two optional rings, ensuring that you can adapt the throttle tube to the following handlebars.
RFX F7/F8
Renthal Twinwall
Renthal Fatbar, Pro Taper, Magura, Neken.
The throttle tubes RFX Pro series are machined from aluminium billets and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are resistant to damage in case of a collision, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.
- Replacement throttle tubes for all known off-road bikes.
- Uses the same cam profile as the original part for good throttle control.
- Construction from hard anodised aluminium billets.
- The sealed ball bearing and Teflon sleeve virtually eliminate any friction.
- RFX logo laser-etched.
- Textured grip mounting area.
- Reduced risk of damage in case of an accident.
Installation instructions
- Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, carefully remove the old throttle tube without damaging the throttle cables.
- Carefully remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
- Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them, or replace if necessary.
- Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube has turned on the handlebars; if there is a ridge, replace the handlebars.
- Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and makes the throttle stick after a short period).
- Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
- Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
- Adjust the cable slack to your liking.
- Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the throttle’s proper operation and the correct routing of the cable, some re-adjustment of the cable may be necessary.
- Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
- Cover the end opening of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue to the outer diameter of the throttle tube.
- Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
- Turn the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
- Apply the RFX grip safety wire if necessary.
- After the glue has dried, recheck the throttle’s proper operation.
